Please vote for Bill Woolsey for Mayor of the Town of James Island on July 31.
Bill was elected as Mayor on August 3, 2010. He worked to reorganize the Town’s finances, improve the staff’s morale, and rebuild relationships with other area local governments.
The South Carolina Supreme Court closed down the Town in July of 2011.
Bill has chaired Free James Island, working to reincorporate the Town. With the help of the Board and many volunteers, Bill organized the petition drive and prepared the feasibility study. On April 24, 85 percent of the people voted yes for their Town.
While the people of James Island voted for four year terms for Mayor and Council, South Carolina Law creates a special two year term when a Town is incorporated.
“My goal is to rebuild the Town’s organization and finances. A key element of that goal will be to organize and win annexation elections in the areas of Town that could not be included.”
Bill Woolsey
